Billy Elekana picked up his third UFC win in a row Saturday at UFC 325 when he submitted Junior Tafa by rear-naked choke at 3:18 of Round 2. The light heavyweight bout took place on the prelims at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia.

The first round was a slugfest as both men slung leather toward the other. Tafa (6-5 MMA, 2-5 UFC) landed his fair share of hard blows, but Elekana (10-2 MMA, 3-1 UFC) neutralized danger with skills outside the grappling realm.

That was evident midway through Round 2, when Elekana dragged Tafa down, mounted him, got the back, the rear-naked choke at the tap.

The win for Elekana comes on the eight-year anniversary of his mother Susie's death. She died in 2016 from cancer, and Elekana has since honored her through his nickname – and his victories. Since a debut loss to Bogdan Guskov, Elekana has rattled off wins over Ibo Aslan, Kevin Christian, and now Tafa.

Tafa could be looking at a pink slip, now having lost four of his most recent five outings.
