Jaxon Smith-Njigba hasn't been quiet often this season.

He has been in Super Bowl 60 though. The Seattle Seahawks' star receiver has been mostly shut down in what has been a defensive battle against the New England Patriots in the Bay Area. He had been held to just three catches for 24 yards with about three minutes remaining in the third quarter, despite receiving nine targets.

That hasn't hurt Seattle, though, which was up 12-0 at the time Smith-Njigba departed with an injury. The receiver went into the medical tent with an undisclosed ailment, raising some concerns about his availability going forward. He then went into the tunnel and to the locker room.

Here's the latest on Smith-Njigba's status.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba injury update

Smith-Njigba was taken to the locker room to be evaluated for a concussion.

The receiver was checked out in the tent before heading back up the tunnel with the training staff. It initially appeared to be a leg injury for the Seahawks' star, but NBC's Melissa Stark noted that Smith-Njigba did hit his head on the field prior to coming off.

He was already being tended to on the sidelines about halfway through the third quarter for an apparent foot injury.
