In a late-night LinkedIn post, Compass International Holdings CEO Robert Reffkin announced that Neda Navab would be the new president of Compass Real Estate.

I am proud to announce that Neda Navab has been named President of Compass Real Estate! In this role, Neda will focus exclusively on leading and supporting our @compass real estate professionals nationwide, and helping them achieve their full entrepreneurial potential. Please join me in congratulating Neda as she leads Compass into this next chapter!

Navab began her career at Compass in Oct. 2018 as Reffkin’s chief of staff and was most recently brokerage president. Prior to her time at Compass, she worked at Urban Systems, Enjoy Technology, Box, and McKinsey & Company, according to her LinkedIn profile. Like Reffkin, she earned her undergraduate degree at Columbia. She earned her MBA at Harvard Business School in 2013.

As brokerage president, Navab oversaw Compass’s hundreds of offices and roughly 40,000 agents. In that role, she was responsible for managing the firm’s profit and loss, and driving revenue growth through the adoption of Compass’s platform as well as agent retention and the use of ancillary services.

Navab likewise played a significant role in Compass’s mergers and acquisitions, guiding the firm’s integration of businesses across several markets, including its integrations of @properties Christie’s International Real Estate and Anywhere Real Estate.

The news of Navab’s promotion comes about one month after Compass closed its $1.6 billion merger with Anywhere.

Last week, Inman also reported that former Anywhere CEO Ryan Schneider quietly left the company “in accordance with the terms of the merger agreement” as the deal closed. Likewise, former Anywhere Chief Technology Officer Rudy Wolfs departed the company. At that time, Compass International Holdings told Inman that further announcements regarding leadership updates at the company would be forthcoming.

“Compass was founded to help real estate professionals succeed and realize their entrepreneurial potential,” Reffkin said in a statement emailed to Inman. “Neda understands that better than anyone. She is a proven and thoughtful leader who shows up for Compass real estate professionals every day. While I will continue to partner closely with Neda to advocate for agents and their clients, her role will remain solely focused on helping Compass agents thrive.”

Navab added in a statement, “Compass real estate professionals are among the most talented and dedicated agents in the industry, and it has been the privilege of my career to build alongside them. I have spent years listening to what they want and need from their brokerage, and my commitment to delivering on that has never been stronger. As President, I will work tirelessly to protect what makes Compass special while continuing to elevate the experience for our real estate professionals and their clients.”

A Compass rep said that as Reffkin continues to transition into his role as head of Compass International Holdings, he will continue to remain very engaged with the brokerage and its agents.

As president, Navab will lead brokerage strategy, operations and agent experience while retaining Compass’s unique culture.

Following Reffkin’s LinkedIn post, many in the industry offered their congratulations in the comments section.

Sue Yannaccone, who was previously president and CEO of Anywhere Brands and is now a group CEO at Compass International Holdings, wrote, “Well deserved Neda Navab ! Congratulations”

Jason Wilson, who is senior managing director and broker of record for Compass’s Westchester County and Connecticut operations, chimed in, “Congratulations Neda Navab”

Likewise, Helene Weissburg, a member of Compass’s communications team, wrote, “Huge congratulations Neda Navab! Couldn’t think of a better leader to lead Compass forward! #thisisCompass”
