Combellack Ice Hockey FundraiserThe property industry and wider community have raised more than £22,000 for CoppaFeel and Breast Cancer Now through a one-day charity ice hockey event, Bex’s Battle.

Hosted by the Nottingham Knights at the Motorpoint Arena Nottingham, the event attracted 2,500 attendees – surpassing the crowds of several Elite League fixtures – with attendees enjoying a range of off-ice activities too, including a pop-up barber shop, a 50/50 draw and a raffle.

Bex’s Battle was inspired by Bex Combellack, who was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year and is currently undergoing treatment. Since her diagnosis, Bex and her husband Richard Combellack, Chief Commercial Officer at proptech supplier Nurtur, have focused on raising awareness of early detection alongside fundraising for life-saving services.

On the ice, a CoppaFeel team faced a Breast Cancer Now team, featuring former Nottingham Panthers and British National Team players, David Clarke and Marc Levers, alongside former Sheffield Steeler, Ben Bliss.

Get checked

The money raised will directly support education, early awareness and vital breast cancer services delivered by CoppaFeel and Breast Cancer Now.

Richard commented: “Thank you to everyone who supported Bex’s Battle and helped us raise over £22,000 for breast cancer charities, and the total is still rising. The turnout was phenomenal, with 2,500 people coming together on the day, more than several Elite League games.

“The property industry once again showed what it’s capable of, with Nurtur and Agents Giving supporting the event through sponsorship of ticket printing and players’ jerseys. Most importantly, we’re using this momentum to spread a vital message: get checked. Early detection can save lives.”

The Negotiator Awards 2025 also raised more than £25,000 for Coppafeel!, with credit to the Combellacks for helping drive industry-wide support.

Fundraising remains open via the Bex’s Battle silent auction.
