Collin McKinney allowed two runs and six hits over 4.2 innings, walking two and striking out eight. He left down 2-1 before Michigan scored twice in the 6th by playing small ball.
A single and two walks allowed by Evan Brandt loaded the bases before the Wolverines laid down back-to-back run-scoring bunts.
The Wildcats also began the 2025 season 0-3, losing all three games at a tournament in Texas, but went on to win the Big 12 Tournament title and reach the College World Series.
Arizona will play its next five games at Hi Corbett Field, starting with Tuesday’s 6 p.m. MT home opener against Omaha.
