The Pittsburgh Steelers enter the 2026 NFL offseason with a major question that needs to be answered surrounding the future of quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

After finishing out his one-year contract with the Steelers that he signed last offseason, Rodgers is set to become a free agent again. He could choose to return to Pittsburgh for one more year at least, or he could choose to retire or sign with another team.

No one knows what Rodgers is going to do. Pittsburgh needs to figure that out quickly.

Should Rodgers choose to leave the Steelers, they will need to move fast to find a replacement. One rumored option that they could target is Green Bay Packers free agent signal caller Malik Willis.

That being said, Willis would not be a cheap option in free agency. A new update has shared a potential price tag for Pittsburgh.

According to NFL insider Tom Pelissero, as shared by Dov Kleiman on X, Willis could demand a contract worth around $20 to $30 million this offseason.

Willis spent the last two seasons with the Packers as Jordan Love's backup. He was called upon to play on multiple occasions and he was ready.

During the 2025 NFL season, Willis played in four games. He completed 30 of his 35 pass attempts for 422 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions, while also running for 123 yards and two touchdowns.

Back in 2024, he threw for 550 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions, while completing 74.1 percent of his passes. He also chipped in with 138 yards and a score on the ground.

Those numbers show why teams are interested in giving Willis another shot to be an NFL starting quarterback.

Originally drafted by the Tennessee Titans with the No. 86 overall pick in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft, Willis didn't find success with his first team. It took being traded to Green Bay for a seventh-round pick to turn things around.

Now, he's set to become one of the most sought after free agents on the market. Willis is going to be paid and it's very possible that the Steelers could be the team that pays the price.
