Spoiler Alert: This list contains spoilers for The Night Agent Season 3.Back for another action-packed season, The Night Agent delivered ten thrilling episodes that pushed Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso) to the brink. With major corruption that runs all the way deep into the White House, it was up to our action hero to prevent another terrorist attack and uncover the cover-up. With characters old and new joining Peter on the epic hunt, The Night Agent's third season was one of the best yet.

Though the finale ended with most storylines wrapping up nicely, with those caught being apprehended. That said, The Night Agent, the series based on Matthew Quirk's novel, has left us with some major burning questions. From where certain characters go next to what Peter will face in his next adventure out west, we're beginning to see these questions get resolved.

1 Will More Secrets Be Revealed in Connection to Jacob Monroe?

One of the most nefarious individuals in the series was Jacob Monroe (Louis Herthum). Not that he epitomized the stereotypes of a super villain, he just so happened to be a highly intellectual, ruthless black-market intelligence broker. A former corporate lawyer with massive global connections, he served as a nemesis to Peter during Season 2. Back in Season 2, Monroe's connection to Peter's story remained, but his motivations changed. Still having an extraordinary grudge against the United States government, he was eager to make one final change and reconnect with his long-lost daughter, Isabel De Leon (Genesis Rodriguez), before he succumbed to cancer. In an art-imitates-life moment, Herthum had a health scare that he feared would prevent him from working. Instead, it changed the character's direction. Though he did present a softer side, there's simply no denying his lasting impact.

Sadly, Monroe was assassinated at the hands of Adam Corrigan (David Lyons) at the direction of President Richard Hagan (Ward Horton) in order to cover up his own corruption. But Monroe's presence still lingered. By the end of the season, Isabel was able to hack into her father’s files, where it was clear it would take weeks to truly sift through. While the season ended with many guilty parties either killed or removed from their positions, who else was included in the files? What other secrets have yet to be uncovered? Though we may have lost Monroe on our screens, there's no telling how else he could be involved in future stories.

2 With Isabel Heading to Spain, Has Her Story Concluded?

When a supreme falls, a new one rises. In a similar manner to James Bond having Bond girls, Peter must have at least one female companion chasing around the bad guys. This season, essentially replacing Rose Larkin (Luciane Buchanan), Isabel De Leon fulfilled the position. Thankfully, keeping things platonic, Isabel played a crucial role in this season's action. A reporter for the Financial Register, the highly brilliant Isabel served as a sensational addition to the action. Off on her crusade for answers, it was eventually revealed that Monroe was her father.

Isabel was given a book of great importance that Monroe gave her mother, which held the key to the crucial files that ultimately took down the terrorist cell and the corruption in D.C. After successfully surviving multiple attempts on her life, Isabel gave herself a little reprieve with a trip to Barcelona. Her story seems to have concluded as a one-off character. While it was alluded to that Peter and Isabel remained in contact, there's very little to suggest she would return to Peter's story. Listen, if Rose, who had a romantic attachment, was ditched when her story concluded, there's little chance Isabel has a reason to stay. The people who needed access to her father's files now have them, so her presence is futile.

3 What Action Will Peter Find in Los Angeles During Season 4?

Some deem the West Coast as the best coast. Well, according to series creator Shawn Ryan, Peter is about to find out. For the first three seasons, Peter has stayed on the East Coast, primarily in Washington, D.C. and New York City. Now, new action will be taking him to Los Angeles. Though he has ties to DC, that doesn't mean a mission can't be found in the City of Stars. We'll get to her soon, but rumor has it Rose is based in the Bay Area. Not saying Los Angeles has just a singular reason to relocate.

So why LA? Logistics. Though Season 4 hasn't been officially greenlit, the writer's room was picked up. With Netflix getting a tax credit in California, they've moved the filming to Hollywood. Sharing with Deadline, Ryan revealed, "We've been working for a while on the storyline. We have some scripts, and we are breaking stories. I think you know from the tax credit, there's a date by which you need to be filming by; there's time for us at the moment." Since spy thrillers have no geographical bounds, one benefit of the locale swap is that we could see Peter hit the beach, if you know what I mean!

4 Is The Father Officially Finished With His Line of Work?

The Night Agent Season 3 introduced an array of new characters played by some incredibly fun familiar faces. With the season being a multi-tiered hunt going on, it opened up the opportunity to meet the individual trying to kill anyone involved with the cover-up and the woman who hired said assassin. Playing the uniquely titled assassin, The Father was True Blood alum Stephen Moyer, and as the high-ranking banker at Walcott Capital, Freya Meyers, was Saturday Night Live alum Michaela Watkins. As the key cog in the money laundering, Freya pushed The Father to cover her tracks by handsomely rewarding him. But he hit some snags along the way as he was accompanied by his far too smart young son on his business trip.

As Freya kept pushing The Father to expand his job, the more it became, compromising not only the relationship with his son (Callum Vinson), but also his safety. After threatening the ones he loved should he not fulfill his mission, Freya's veiled threat marked a shift in The Father, who ultimately decided to quit the business. Believing Freya would not back off her threat, he disguised himself as a British national at an airport bar and sneakily poisoned her, ending their ties for good. We love that he chose his family over money, but we can't forgive that high body count this season. But is his time as a hired assassin truly over? With a high-profile performer like Moyer, it might be worth keeping him in the loop. He could even be an oddball option as a future partner for Peter. That said, the button on his story was so glorious, it would be an extraordinary way to end a run. Either way, we'll take a spin-off of The Father's origin story!

5 What Is Adam's Fate?

Morality is always a fascinating battle in spry thrillers. There are very few individuals who are truly morally good on The Night Agent. Someone who lived by honor was now an entry into the universe, Adam Corrigan. An alluring, mysterious, and highly competent former U.S. Army Lieutenant and CIA contractor, Adam is brought in to be Peter's new partner. But the truth was, thanks to their war ties, he's actually the President’s fixer.

Peter is used to betrayal by those he's close to, so he always kept Adam at bay. But when he's instructed to kill Chelsea Arrington (Fola Evans-Akingbola), even if it means Peter is collateral damage, it's Peter's final moral sway that gets Adam to stand down, dismissing the President's orders. And that's it from Adam. But with the President and First Lady, Jenny Hagan (Jennifer Morrison), being exposed and removed from office, was Adam forced to take the proverbial bullet? Or perhaps he's been shortlisted to join Peter as a full-time partner. Nevertheless, Lyons served as a delightfully grisly foil to Basso this season.

6 Will We Ever See Rose Again?

Essentially, left a passing comment here and there, Rose Larkin was completely absent from Season 3 of The Night Agent. Her physical appearance was deliberately missing as she had been written off. But for a character who had such a profound impact on our hero for two seasons, it seemed a bit odd to pretend that both she and Peter moved on with nary a mention of how things were left off. While it's not uncommon for television shows to see characters leave, but to go without a trace? It was a cruel departure for an integral and beloved character.

Longtime fans felt her void, despite it being filled with an assortment of characters. But with the move out West, certainly the door is open. According to his chat with Deadline, never say never, not also, Ryan had no definitive answer. The article stated, "Ryan would not say, but noted that she technically lives in the Bay Area while Season 4 would take place in Los Angeles." With Isabel seemingly out of the picture and Chelsea engaged to Theo Miller (Zach Appelman), there are no romantic ties, which frees up Rose to reappear without trouble. Yet, even if she should come back just for a happy, platonic reunion, it would be a celebratory moment. Though it's a scary thought to think that Rose is only a prop in Peter's story.

7 Will Peter Take a Partner?

Peter is a solo man, but he's never shy about asking for help. Rose served as his sidekick, but Adam swooped in to play partner. Peter succeeded by having another sharpshooting agent to divide and conquer, so it makes sense he might want a partner when he takes on his next assignment. The finale button saw FBI Deputy Director Aiden Mosley (Albert Jones) reveal he has someone ready to be Peter’s partner, but would not divulge who it is.

In one universe, Rose could easily have been low-key trained behind the scenes to be a field agent. We've seen her showcase her badass skills during the first two seasons, so it's not so farfetched. Adam would be an easy option, as they've worked together already and make a good duo. But his association with the corrupt leader of the free world may cause him to be removed from the conversation. The most insane choice would be The Father. How he could maneuver into that spot would be a story in and of itself, but crazier things have happened. The most logical option for a character already in our story is Chelsea. A proven Secret Service agent who has continued to upgrade herself, she and Peter would have a sensational dynamic. The trouble is, she and Theo are D.C. based, so she might have to swoop in with a career change and become a traveling agent.

Then, of course, it could be an entirely brand-new character. And according to Ryan, that's what it will be. "I don't want to say anything other than it’s a new character that we've never met before," Ryan said. The series star has a very different idea of who he would like to see as a partner. "I think, ironically, someone who's more intense than he is, I think, would help Peter see the logical end result of him being always switched on. I think having a character that is Peter dialed to a 100 would force Peter to go, 'whoa, I'm this, this is what it's like to work with me?'" Basso said. Thinking the writers would prefer to give him someone who would "tether" Peter, he continued, "I think it's more interesting to have someone who’s like, No, dude, screw her, screw having a family. We're going to do this tomorrow, and we're going to do this, and come with me on this. Like, that sounds more intense than the alternative."
