Brown Harris Stevens, Coldwell Banker, and other industry brands made moves last week, adding multimillion-dollar brokers and team leaders to their ranks.
Inman On Tour
Inman On Tour Nashville delivers insights, networking, and strategies for agents and leaders navigating today’s market.
Every day, Inman gets a slew of announcements about big teams and industry leaders making moves from one company to another. It’s more than we can cover!
So, here are some of the biggest announcements from recent days:
Brown Harris Stevens
Legendary Manhattan broker Debbie Baum has joined Brown Harris Stevens after 23 years with Corcoran Real Estate. Baum has a lifetime sales volume of more than $600 million and has been ranked within the top 1.5 percent of brokers nationwide.
Before real estate, Baum had an extensive career in the fashion industry, working for brands including Donna Karan New York and Perry Ellis. “I’m excited to be joining Brown Harris Stevens and look forward to continuing to serve my clients alongside such a respected organization,” she said.
Coldwell Banker
Coldwell Banker West has expanded its reach in San Diego County by adding more than 100 agents formerly affiliated with Keller Williams Realty in El Cajon. CB West now has more than 1,110 agents across 12 offices in the region and is the largest independently owned and operated real estate brokerage in San Diego.
“San Diego is our home market, and we intend to lead it,” CB West President Peter Mendiola said in an emailed statement.
Portside Real Estate
Maine-based indie brokerage Portside Real Estate has added Ali Smith to its ranks. Smith, an 11-year industry veteran, has a background in social work and psychology and worked as a licensed family outreach therapist before transitioning to real estate.
“Ali brings an incredible depth of empathy, professionalism, and heart to everything she does,” said Alyssa Bouthot, Portside’s Greater Portland agent relations manager, in a prepared statement. “Her background in social work, combined with her energy, dedication, and strong client advocacy, makes her a wonderful addition to our Greater Portland team.”
REMAX
REMAX Chief Growth Officer Chris Lim has another title to add to his list — president. Lim has been with the Denver-based franchisor since January 2025, following his departure from @properties Christie’s International Real Estate, where he served as president for a little more than five years.
“Chris is a proven growth leader with a deep understanding of what drives success for agents, franchisees and brands,” REMAX CEO Erik Carlson said in a written statement. “Since joining REMAX, he has brought clarity, energy and momentum to our growth strategy. Elevating Chris to President and Chief Growth Officer reflects both his contributions and our confidence in his vision for the future of REMAX.”
The Real Brokerage
Top-performing Houston broker Haley Garcia has moved her team, the Garcia Real Estate Group, to the Real Brokerage. The six-agent team consistently closes more than $200 million in sales annually, with 95 percent of sales coming from referrals. Garcia has been in the industry for 25 years and briefly owned a boutique brokerage that was acquired in 2011.
“Haley has built an extraordinary business rooted in excellence, service, and community impact,” Real Chairman and CEO Tamir Poleg said in a press release. “Her leadership, track record and commitment to developing agents align perfectly with Real’s values. She embodies the caliber of agent we are proud to support through Real Luxury, and we’re excited to welcome Haley and her team as they scale their brand on a national platform.”
Zillow
The portal behemoth has promoted three executives this week, including Chief Product Officer Christopher Roberts, Senior Vice President of Rentals Jon Lim and SVP of Corporate Affairs Marissa Brooks.
The company said the promotions reflect its “core commitment” to consumers and industry professionals, with CEO Jeremy Wacksman saying, “In real estate and technology, sustainable growth requires innovation, operational excellence and trust… Together, they help position Zillow for long-term success.”
