Now-former Jacksonville Jaguars' cornerback Greg Newsome signed a one-year, $8 million free agency deal to join the New York Giants.
While the Jaguars chose not to retain Newsome, what grade did the Giants receive for making this addition?

When it comes to Newsome signing with the Giants, New York got a right-in-the-middle grade of "average."
"This one-year deal for Newsome comes in right around PFF's projected per-year average," wrote PFF. "Newsome struggled in each of the past two seasons after earning PFF coverage grades between 69.9 and 72.3 from 2021 to 2023. He is just 25 years old, so there is still room for growth, and a one-year pact gives him the opportunity to prove that he deserves a bigger deal in the future."
Re-signing both Montaric Brown and Greg Newsome was likely never going to be in play this offseason for the Jaguars, and Jacksonville made the right choice in retaining Brown.

As a member of the Jaguars, Newsome allowed a completion rate of almost 70% and 11.7 yards per catch. He had just one pass breakup and one interception.
Newsome came to Jacksonville with a strong track record of ball production and a skill set that fits well with Anthony Campanile's zone-heavy scheme. However, the results never translated onto the field.
