Boston Celtics All-Star Jaylen Brown was ejected in the first half after picking up two technical fouls during an argument with officials, leaving the Boston Celtics shorthanded in a game they trail the San Antonio Spurs 97-90 through three quarters.

Brown, who finished with 8 points and 7 assists before his dismissal, appeared to lose his composure in a heated exchange with referees that resulted in back-to-back technicals and an automatic ejection under NBA rules.

Fortunately for the Celtics, Derrick White stepped to the plate to keep the Celtics in the game. White leads all scorers with 32 points on 11-of-20 shooting, adding 5 assists and 4 rebounds.

It's an unfortunate loss for the Celtics, who are taking on a hot Spurs team. Victor Wembanyama has been dominant for San Antonio, posting 29 points and 8 rebounds while shooting 6-of-12 from three-point range. He's had support from De'Aaron Fox, who has complemented him with 18 points and a game-high 8 assists.

The Spurs outscored Boston 39-32 in the third quarter to push their lead to seven heading into the fourth.

Boston entered the night having won four of its last five games.
