Another actor wraps filming and says goodbye to Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Production of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds' fifth and final season is warping towards the end, with filming soon to be completed in Toronto as the holidays approach.

Paramount+ renewed Star Trek: Strange New Worlds for a shortened 6-episode season 5, which is also the final season of the popular prequel. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 4 wrapped filming in summer 2025 and is expected to premiere on Paramount+ in 2026, with season 5 to follow in 2027.

On her Instagram Stories, Celia Rose Gooding shared a photo announcing her series wrap on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Set to herself performing "Keep Us Connected" from Star Trek's first-ever musical, the exuberant Celia poses in front of her trailer with Ensign Celia Uhura's Starfleet delta badge, which she is retiring. Check out Celia's post below:

Celia Rose Gooding Uhura Wrapped Strange New Worlds

As a follow-up Instagram Story, Celia posted a hilarious video of her celebrating wrapping Star Trek: Strange New Worlds on the Starship Enterprise's bridge.

Celia Rose Gooding inherited the legacy role of Nyota Uhura from the legendary Nichelle Nichols, who played Lieutenant Uhura in Star Trek: The Original Series. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds' first three seasons charted Uhura's growth from uncertain Starfleet cadet to confident Ensign who became the USS Enterprise's Communications Officer.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds also deepened Uhura's character more than Star Trek: The Original Series ever did. Nyota a tragic backstory was revealed, and she even gained her first canonical love interest, Beto Ortegas (Mynor Luken), the brother of Uhura's best friend, Lt. Erica Ortegas (Melissa Navia).

Uhura worried at Communications

Celia Rose Gooding is a Grammy Award winner, and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds became a platform to show off the full range of Gooding's talents. Celia was one of the most majestic singers in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds' musical episode, and Gooding also stretched her acting chops by playing variants of Uhura.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds still has two more seasons and 16 episodes to come. Uhura's continued evolution will be a treat to watch before the Starship Enterprise passes from Captain Christopher Pike (Anson Mount) to Captain James T. Kirk (Paul Wesley) when Star Trek: Strange New Worlds ends.
