After a three-day break in their schedule, the Los Angeles Lakers will be in Salt Lake City on Thursday to take on the Utah Jazz. The Jazz may have a dismal 10-15 record, but they have won five of their last eight games, and they're capable of putting a high number of points on the board.
Right now, given their defensive problems, the Lakers cannot take any team lightly. That is especially true given their injury report for Thursday's game. Not only will Austin Reaves continue to sit due to a calf strain, but starting center Deandre Ayton will not play due to elbow soreness.
Ayton has been playing some good basketball this season for Los Angeles. He's averaging 15.3 points and nine rebounds a game, and his effort on the boards has been outstanding. He's also shooting an incredible 71% from the field, which is a result of all the easy baskets his teammates have been getting him and his ability to convert at a high rate near the rim.
