One thing we know about Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is that he always divides opinion.

Either he's good, or he sucks. There's no in between.

And for the 2025 season, there's no denying that Dak is having one of his better seasons, despite Dallas' 6-7-1 record.

Some have made the case that had Dallas had just an average defense, the tie to the Green Bay Packers, the losses to the Carolina Panthers, Arizona Cardinals, and Minnesota Vikings could have all been wins.

But that isn't how football works.

Still, for CBS Sports' Garrett Podell, in his latest quarterback power rankings, Dak stays at No. 5 despite the loss to Minnesota.

“Dak Prescott leads the NFL in passing yards (3,931) and is third in passing touchdowns (26) while piloting the NFL's No. 4 scoring offense (29.1 points per game),” Podell wrote. “Prescott's offensive tackles didn't give him much of a chance in Week 15, routinely getting beat by spin moves, but the Dallas QB is having another strong individual season despite his tackles and the defense crumbling around him.”

Cowboys wasted Prescott's good year...again

Even before the trade of Micah Parsons, the Cowboys' defense wasn't seen as one of the better units in football. Then Jerry Jones shipped off Dallas' best pass rusher, leaving a defense that was there to be had.

And we have seen time and time again, Matt Eberflus' unit has been torched, giving up 30+ points in a game, an embarrassing seven times. There's no denying that Dak has been let down again by the front office.

Yes, Prescott has had some bad games (Chicago, Denver, Arizona), but for the most part, Dak has been superb in 2025. If only the defense could have come to the party.

Now, as Week 16 approaches and playoffs are essentially out of reach, it is another wasted Dallas season, but at least this year, Prescott held up his end of the bargain.
