The Kansas City Chiefs will need to revamp their offense during the 2026 NFL offseason, and veteran analyst Bucky Brooks has one idea for how the team might go about fixing its run game.

In his first mock draft, which was published earlier this week, Brooks laid out his vision for the first 10 selections in Round 1.

After sending Indiana Hoosiers quarterback Fernando Mendoza to the Las Vegas Raiders with the No. 1 overall pick, Brooks projects that a series of edge rushers, offensive tackles, and wide receivers will come off the board.

This scenario would leave the Chiefs in a perfect position to take Notre Dame Fighting Irish running back Jeremiyah Love with the No. 9 selection — a move which could fundamentally reshape Kansas City's offense next season.

Love is a force to be reckoned with and is easily the most exciting rusher in his class. By taking the 2025 Doak Walker Award winner in Round 1, the Chiefs would cement their commitment to establishing a capable running game for Patrick Mahomes to rely on when he returns from injury next season.
