After five massively popular seasons, Taylor Sheridan’s modern Western Yellowstone came to an end in 2024, but it didn’t get there without a few very public bumps in the road. The biggest wildcard the series faced was Kevin Costner’s departure. He exited the hit show amid reports of creative differences with Sheridan, and to focus on his multipart Western epic, Horizon: An American Saga. Even so, with a massive fanbase and a growing lineup of spin-offs, the Yellowstone franchise was always too big and too influential to simply stall out. The Dutton family saga had to keep moving.

Season 5 officially kicked off in early November 2022, and the story ultimately closed out with Season 5 Part 2 just two years ago. That final stretch was already carrying a lot of weight, and it didn’t escape criticism either. Writing John Dutton (Costner) out of the story left a very real void for longtime fans, but that doesn’t mean the Dutton diehards checked out before the finish line. The catch is that watching the entire franchise can be a bit more complicated than usual, and we’ll break down exactly why below

Is 'Yellowstone' Available To Stream on Paramount+?

No, in the U.S., Yellowstone is not available to stream on Paramount+, even though it aired on Paramount Network. The streaming rights for the main series live with Peacock, which is why Paramount+ doesn’t carry the full run. If you’re trying to watch on Paramount-owned platforms, the main option is Paramount Network via a live TV provider (cable, satellite, or a live-TV streaming bundle that includes Paramount Network), which continues to air reruns.

Meanwhile, all seasons of Yellowstone, including its final season, are on Peacock. Peacock added all 14 episodes of Season 5 beginning March 16, 2025, so the full series (2018 to 2024) is now streamable there. One small caveat that saves headaches: availability can differ outside the U.S. In some countries, like Canada, Paramount+ may have the rights. But in the U.S., it’s Peacock.

Is There Another 'Yellowstone' Spinoff Coming Soon?

Yes, and it’s a big one! A direct Yellowstone spinoff titled Marshals is officially on the way, with Luke Grimes returning as Kayce Dutton in a present-day continuation of the story. The CBS series follows Kayce after the end of the Dutton ranch era, as he joins an elite group of U.S. Marshals and tries to outrun a past that refuses to stay buried.

Early footage makes one thing clear: Marshals isn’t interested in a clean slate. With the Train Station looming large, the spinoff looks ready to confront consequences that Yellowstone often sidestepped, turning Kayce’s so-called fresh start into something much darker and far more dangerous. It will also be available to watch on CBS and stream on Paramount+.

Lawmen: Bass Reeves was initially conceived as yet another Yellowstone spin-off, but Taylor Sheridan and the rest of the crew made the wise decision to turn the biopic series into its own standalone show. The show tells the remarkable true story of Bass Reeves (David Oyelowo) - one of the most celebrated gunslingers in history. While he faces adversity because of the color of his skin and his unique upbringing, Reeves proves himself to be a paramount figure in early American history by bringing law and order to the West of the Mississippi River. Lawmen: Bass Reeves is available to stream on Paramount+.
