The ownership of the Seattle Seahawks says it has nothing to share about a sale of the team post-Super Bowl 60.

ESPN reported Friday that the Seahawks are planning a sale after Feb. 8, Super Bowl Sunday, that could pull in $7 billion and $8 billion, one team executive told ESPN.

The Wall Street Journal then published a report later Friday backing the ESPN report. “People familiar with the matter expect a sale process to begin shortly after the season ends,” the report states.

But Seahawks owner Jody Allen released a statement to media outlets saying that “the team is not for sale.”

"We've already said that will change at some point per Paul's wishes, but I have no news to share," a spokesperson with the Paul G. Allen estate said. "Our focus right now is winning the Super Bowl and completing the sale of the Portland Trail Blazers in the coming months."

Paul Allen, co-founder of Microsoft, purchased the Seahawks in 1997. He died in 2018, Jody took control of the estate, and Paul's wishes were to sell the team eventually.

One potential buyer of the Seahawks that has been floated is Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. In recent years, Bezos has expressed interest in purchasing an NFL team and was linked to the Washington Commanders when Dan Snyder sold the team.

Allen’s estate also owns the NBA’s Portland Trail Blazers, which is in the process of being sold to a group of investors led by Tom Dundon. The Blazers are reportedly being sold for $4 billion. Dundon also owns the NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes.
