Atlanta Braves outfielder Michael Harris II was a top four center fielder heading into 2025 according to MLB Network. MLB Network revealed the top 10 center fielders for 2026 on Friday according to "The Shredder," and Harris was left off the '26 list.
For those who may not be aware, The Shredder is a system MLB Network uses that relies only on statistics and data. As a result, no bias gets involved. The Shredder's lists are questionable at times, but it is a no bias look at specific position rankings.

Michael Harris II's 2025 SeasonHarris is still only 24 years old. He has plenty of time to get back on track and figure things out.
In 2022, Harris was the National League Rookie of the Year. He had back-to-back strong seasons in 2022 and 2023 before having an up and down '24 campaign. 2025, meanwhile, saw Harris take a step back, but there were some promising signs nonetheless.
He finished 2025 with .249/.268/.409 across 160 games played. Harris' .678 OPS was a career-low, but he did have his first ever 20/20 season. In fact, Harris set a new career-high with 20 home runs and tied his career-high of 20 stolen bases.

Center fielders also need to provide good defense, which is something Harris has continued to do. Harris was in the 95th percentile in range (outs above average) in 2025. His arm strength was in the 77th percentile. Harris is still a quality defensive player at a premier position, which is extremely important.
If Harris can get back to producing respectable offensive numbers, he will find himself back on the top 10 list next year. He is a guy who offers quality defense, good speed and some power. The Braves outfielder just needs to work on his overall offensive consistency at the plate.
There is certainly reason to believe that Michael Harris II can bounce back. He will be a player to watch throughout the 2026 MLB season.
