Now that Dragon Ball Super's anime is finally coming back, we can't help but think about the future of the manga, and, in turn, the future of the anime. The Galactic Patrol Prisoner arc is finally going to be animated, and if the anime series is finally returning, maybe the manga will proceed as well.
If the manga does proceed, there's one arc that everyone wants to see animated: another Tournament of Power. The Tournament of Power is one of the best arcs in Dragon Ball, and now that Dragon Ball Super has unveiled even more tough characters, another tournament arc would be amazing.
If another tournament arc were to be animated in 2027, there are a couple of characters who would be a shoo-in for Universe 7's team. These characters would dominate the tournament, and we can't imagine any characters that would be able to stop them.
True Ultra Instinct Goku
Goku explains the difference between this "True" Ultra Instinct and the Perfected version.
Goku has mastered Ultra Instinct, one of the strongest forms in Dragon Ball. It's an amazing form that we haven't seen much of, and we've seen even less of Goku's own version of the technique: True Ultra Instinct.
True Ultra Instinct is a Goku original that allows the Saiyan to use Ultra Instinct while still tapping into his own emotions. This form would be exciting in another Tournament of Power, and we can only hope that it makes an appearance.
Ultra Ego Vegeta
Ultra Ego is easily Vegeta's strongest form. It's a form that allows the Prince of all Saiyans to tap into the same destructive energy that the Gods of Destruction use, and it hasn't been displayed in the anime whatsoever.
Unfortunately, it won't show up in the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga, but if the Granolah the Survivor arc is animated next, fans will be astonished by Vegeta's power in this form.
Orange Piccolo

It's been a long time since Piccolo has been considered one of the strongest characters in Dragon Ball. After the events of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, however, the Namekian is back on top.
His Orange Piccolo form didn't get a lot of screen time during the film, and if another Tournament of Power is to be animated, Piccolo will dominate. He's finally nearly as strong as Goku, Vegeta, and Gohan once again, and we can't wait to see more of the biggest aura farmer in anime.
Merus
Merus is a brand-new character to the Dragon Ball franchise that plays a massive role in the Galactic Patrol Prisoners arc. He's easily one of the strongest Galactic Patrol members there are, and his inclusion in Universe 7's team during a Tournament of Power would be essential.
He might be able to use Ultra Instinct better than Goku, and that's saying something. He's one of the smartest, most resilient characters around, and he's going to be a great addition to the anime in the latter part of 2026.
Gamma 1
Gamma 1 is a shockingly strong character who was introduced in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. Androids have always been fairly strong in Dragon Ball, but Gamma 1 and Gamma 2 took it up a few notches.
After Gamma 2's noble sacrifice and Cell Max's defeat, Gamma 1 began working with the Z Fighters instead of working against them. He's said to be as strong as Goku and Vegeta, making his inclusion in the Tournament of Power a necessity.
Gohan Beast

Gohan's beast transformations is one of the most exciting additions to the Dragon Ball since Ultra Instinct. Like Piccolo, Gohan hasn't been one of the strongest characters in the franchise, but Beast Gohan might be the strongest of them all.
Gohan didn't do much during the original Tournament of Power, but if he's able to use this form in the next one, even Jiren won't be able to stop him.
Black Frieza

Frieza has always been one of the strongest characters in Dragon Ball, but his Black form takes his power to absurd levels. He's so strong in this form that he was able to knock out both Ultra Ego Vegeta and Ultra Instinct Goku with the same strike.
Frieza was key to Universe 7's victory in the original Tournament of Power, and if there's another, the Z Fighters will need him just as much as they needed him last time.
Granolah
Granolah is one of the most exciting new characters in Dragon Ball Super. He's the last Cerealian, a race of people almost annihilated by the Saiyans. He also wished to be the strongest person in the universe, cementing himself as an absolute beast of a warrior.

With his help, there won't be a Universe that Universe 7 can't beat.
Broly

Broly is truly on another level. He's the Legendary Super Saiyan, the user of a power that only appears once every 1,000 years, and he's only going to get stronger from here.
Unlike Goku and Vegeta, Broly has never had someone to teach him how to fight. Even without experience, he was able to beat both Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Vegeta in a battle, proving that he is truly without equal.
He will be the most necessary fighter for Universe 7 in another Tournament of Power. With a little bit of help from Goku, Broly will surely master some of the strongest attacks in Dragon Ball and become a force to be reckoned with.
